Actuarial Science Program

Actuarial Science is an important field of Applied Mathematics. It requires Mathematical and Statistical skills to study, analyze, and manage risk in the insurance and financial fields. 

Our Actuarial program is ranked as an Advanced Curriculum on the SOA listing of Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs (UCAP-AC). To prepare you for becoming a certified actuary, we offer courses for six Actuarial exams (P, FM, IFM, LTAM, STAM, SRM) and all VEE credits. Start and advance your actuarial career by earning:

  • BA/BS degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science  
  • BS Degree in Math for Business with a concentration in Actuarial Science
  • Undergraduate Certificate in Actuarial Studies
  • MS degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Statistics     

Undergraduate students may be admitted to the Early Entry Program and begin work towards a graduate degree. Students can double count up to twelve credit hours towards the completion of both a BS/BA degree and the MS degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Statistics. UNCC is among the 46 universities and colleges in the US offering a master level program, the only one in the Carolinas (NC and SC).
