**Minor in Mathematics**

A minor in Mathematics requires 18 semester hours (6 courses). Coursework includes the following:

- MATH 1241
- MATH 1242
- MATH 2164 or MATH 2171
- One course chosen from MATH 2241, 2242, 2164, 2171, STAT 2122 or any 3000 level MATH, STAT, or OPRS course
- Two courses at the 3000-level or above (MATH, STAT, or OPRS)

Students who graduate with a minor in mathematics must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in all the courses applied toward the minor.

**Minor in Actuarial Mathematics**

A minor in Actuarial Mathematics requires 21 semester hours (7 courses). Coursework includes the following:

- MATH 1241
- MATH 1242
- MATH 2241
- MATH 2164
- MATH 2428
- MATH 3128
- MATH/STAT 3122

Completion of these courses will help prepare the student for the first two actuarial examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. The first actuarial exam should be taken after completing MATH 3122/3123, and the second examination after completing MATH 3128.Students who graduate with a minor in actuarial mathematics must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in all the courses applied toward the minor.

**Minor in Statistics**

A minor in Statistics requires the following six courses:

- MATH 1120, 1121, or 1241
- MATH 2120 or 1242
- STAT 1220, 1221, 1222, or 2122
- STAT 2223
- STAT 3110, 3140, 3150, or 3160
- One course from the following list in the studentâ€™s major: BINF 2121, CJUS 3101, COMM 3100, ECON 3112, OPER 3206, POLS 2220, PSYC 3140, HLTH 3104, SOWK 3900, SOCY 4156, or a second course from the list in item #5 above (not available for students majoring in MATH).
