Attendance is worth lots of points: When you miss a class it comes out of your grace absences. There are NO excused absences.

Grading scheme: Final Exam 30 points (or more if you do well on it)
The other 70 points (term grade) is computed as follows. You will get 3 tests each graded out of 20. You will have Web-based homework sets to complete for 20 points, and you will have a quiz/attendance score (10 points). This gives you 4 scores out of 20. Your worst one is divided by 2 so it is now out of 10 points. Your quiz/attendance score is just added on as a bonus!

Points for attendance are computed as follows: starting with 10 points, 2 absences grace, lose 1 point for each after that. Attendance is based on sincere attempt at the day's "hand-in" or quiz.

During each class I will make additional suggestions for homework problems that you should work on your own. I will keep this list on the course webpage. Any additional handouts will also be available on the course webpage.

Class Disruptions: You should arrive on time for class and not leave before the class ends. If you feel like talking in class, raise your hand and we'll talk about College Algebra.

Drop-in Tutoring is available in Fretwell 315, usually from about 11AM until about 5PM. I hope to be announcing extra tutoring by our own Teaching Assistant.
